“16TH CENTURY SPORTSWEAR”
My research commenced with a meticulous examination of sports that were prevalent during the 16th century and pondering ways to blend them with contemporary sportswear. My attention was captivated by the athletic pursuits of fencing, bullfighting, and archery. Subsequently, I embarked on a creative journey, formulating an innovative approach to seamlessly merge these historical sports with the modern era through the medium of fabrics. After due deliberation, I opted to utilize sports mesh, a fabric that is widely employed in modern sportswear. By adroitly imprinting Victorian lace on this fabric, I achieved the effect of old lace, while simultaneously retaining the material's contemporary identity. The ultimate objective of this exercise was to create an illusion that blended two distinct epochs of sportswear in a harmonious and beguiling manner.
